January 3rd, 2019

We hold the highest respect for our users' privacy (“user” or “you)” at Kontora Media Inc ("us", "we", or "our") and we know that you care how information about you is used and shared. This notice describes what information we collect, use, disclose, and how we safeguard your information when you visit our website www.kontora.ca (the "Site").

By visiting our Site you are accepting the practices described within.
The last thing we want to do is violate your right to privacy and/or annoy you. Hence, we’ve made it easy to opt out of our mailing list and opt out of having your data collected when you visit. Please email us at hello@kontora.ca if you want us to completely stop collecting data from you when you visit our site. This will take up to 30 days to process. For details on what customer information we collect, please continue reading below.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT & RETAIN?

We will collect Personal Information by lawful and fair means with your knowledge or consent. Personally, identifiable information may include but is not limited to your name and email address ("Personal Information"). While using our Site, we may ask you to provide us with Personal Information that can be used to contact or identify you, as well as for analytic and marketing purposes, such as re-marketing and to customize features and advertising that appear on the Site. Before or at the time of collecting Personal Information, we will identify the purposes for which information is being collected.

MAILCHIMP

We use MailChimp as our marketing automation platform. When you submit your information via our online submission form, you acknowledge that the information you provide will be transferred to MailChimp for processing in accordance with their Privacy Policy and Terms. Kontora Media Inc may use Mailchimp services to create and use distribution lists, send marketing email campaigns, and place online advertisements. This may include the transfer of personal data to certain of MailChimp’s sub-processors who, as described in Mailchimp’s Data Processing Agreement, perform some critical services, such as helping MailChimp prevent abuse and providing support to customers.

WEBSITE ANALYTICS

We use Google Analytics to track the volume and type of traffic that comes to our website. When you access this website, Google may collect information such as cookies, IP address, search keywords, session length, browser type, page views and a number of visits. None of this information is personally identifiable and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy. You have the option to opt out of our Google Analytics by opting out in your Ads Control Panel or in the global ad network privacy. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on in your browser.

HOW DOES GOOGLE ANALYTICS WORK?

Google Analytics is Google’s web analytics tool that helps website owners understand how their visitors engage with their website. Google Analytics collects information anonymously, and much like examining footprints in the sand, it reports website trends without identifying individual visitors. Analytics uses its own cookie to track visitor interactions. The cookie is used to store information, such as what time the current visit occurred, whether the visitor has been to the site before, and what site referred the visitor to the web page.

Google Analytics customers can view a variety of reports about how visitors interact with their website so they can improve their website and how people find it. A different cookie is used for each website, and visitors are not tracked across multiple sites. Analytics requires that all websites that use it must update their privacy policy to include a notice that fully discloses the use of Analytics. To disable this type of cookie, some browsers will indicate when a cookie is being sent and allow you to decline cookies on a case-by-case basis. In addition to declining cookies, you can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on in your browser, which prevents Google Analytics from collecting information about your website visits.

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION?

Kontora Media Inc takes security seriously and cares about the integrity of your personal information. We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other types of misuse. Any information disclosed online is vulnerable to interception and misuse by unauthorized parties. Therefore, we cannot guarantee complete security if you provide personal information.

In the event that any information under our control is compromised as a result of a breach of security, we will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation and where appropriate, notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised and take other steps, in accordance with any applicable laws and regulations.

YOUR INFORMATION & THIRD PARTIES

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, including payment processing, data analysis, email delivery, hosting services, customer service, and marketing assistance.

However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Please also note that as our business grows, we may buy or sell various assets. In the unlikely event that we sell some or all of our assets, or one or more of our websites is acquired by another company, information about our users may be among the transferred assets.

These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We, therefore, have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites.
